Overview
Matrix Restoration is a 24/7 water damage and restoration company covering five Central Florida counties with five trades under one certified crew. I rebuilt their site — matrixrapidrestore24.com — in 2026, replacing what the business had before with a build designed around the one thing an emergency restoration site actually needs to do: get the phone to ring.
Project at a Glance
- Client: Matrix Restoration
- Industry: Restoration & emergency services
- Project Type: Website rebuild
- Stack: Astro build
- Website: matrixrapidrestore24.com
What Existed Before
Before the rebuild, the business ran its site under the old Matrix Turn Key name on Weebly: a narrow, fixed-width layout with a stock photo collage and dense blocks of small text. That's a workable format for a site people browse, but Matrix's actual visitor is someone standing in a flooded room, on a phone, who needs a number to call in the next few seconds — not a paragraph to read. A fixed-width Weebly layout built for desktop browsing was fighting the exact moment it needed to win.
The Decision Behind the Rebuild
The whole rebuild starts from one call: for an emergency service, the site's only job is getting the phone to ring, so nothing on the page should compete with that number for attention. That's also the same distinction I use to decide whether a client needs a website or a custom app in the first place — when the content barely changes and nobody needs to log in, the answer is a fast, static site rather than an application with an admin backend behind it. Matrix doesn't need a portal or a login; it needs to load fast and put a phone number in front of every visitor immediately, so it was built on Astro rather than a CMS or a custom backend.
The Build
The rebuild opens with a full-bleed hero — a dark, water-damaged interior behind the headline “Water damage doesn't wait. Neither do we.” — and keeps the phone number in view in three places at once: the header, a persistent 24/7 emergency call banner, and the main button, so it's never more than a glance away no matter where someone lands or scrolls. Below that, a certification badge row establishes legitimacy quickly, and a five-trades services grid — “five trades, one certified crew” — tells a visitor in one line that Matrix isn't a single-service outfit subcontracting out the rest of the job. The site also documents its own before-and-after restoration work across the five counties it serves, and the whole build leans on local SEO to be found in the moment someone's actually searching for help.
Technologies Used
Launch
The rebuild replaced the narrow, text-heavy Matrix Turn Key site with the full-bleed, call-first build shown above, and it's what's live today at matrixrapidrestore24.com. The comparison isn't subtle by design — a business whose entire value proposition is answering the phone at 2 a.m. doesn't need a subtle website. Every piece of the old layout that made a visitor scroll or search for a phone number is gone; what replaced it puts the same number in front of them no matter which section of the page they're looking at.
That's also why the certification badges and the documented before-and-after work sit as high on the page as they do. A homeowner calling a restoration company mid-emergency is trusting a stranger to come into their house — the badges and the past-work evidence exist to answer the trust question in the same few seconds it takes to answer the phone-number question, rather than asking a visitor to dig for either one.
What I'd Tell Another Business in the Same Spot
If your business runs on the phone ringing — restoration, trades, cleaning, any service where the job starts with a call — go look at your own site the way a panicked visitor would. Count how many taps it takes to reach your number from any screen. If the answer isn't “zero, it's always visible,” that's the first fix, ahead of anything else about design or copy. And don't over-build the platform underneath it: a fast static site is usually the right amount of software for a business whose site doesn't need logins, portals, or an admin backend — that's a different kind of project entirely, and paying for one you don't need just slows the site down.
